The purpose of sign-in points is to record the flow of visitors in a particular facility or organization. When visitors arrive, they are required to sign in at the designated sign-in points, which could be an iPad, a QR-code poster, or any internet-enabled smart device with a browser.

In this article, we will be discussing the following topics:

How to Access the Sign in Points Section

The starting point for each topic in this article will be the Sign In Points section, which you can access by clicking the Sign In Dashboard icon on the left sidebar and hitting the Sign In Points submenu item.

Creating a New Sign-in Point

To create a new sign-in point, follow the steps below:

  • Go to the Sign In Points section.

  • Click the '+ Create Sign In Point' button at the top right.

  • On the pop-up window, select either QR Code/Browser or iPad Kiosk, specify a name for the new sign-in point, select a location, and click the 'Create' button.

iPad Sign-in Point

Although there are other sign-in points available, the iPad Sign-in Point is the most impressive way for you to allow sign-ins from Users and Guests. Shown below is a screen capture of the iPad sign-in point designer.

The top bar shows the name of the iPad sign-in point, and gives the following options:

  • English - default language. Click to add another language (you can map text for that language by going to Settings->Languages).

  • Landscape/Portrait - changes the orientation of the design (you may want to clone the sign-in point first because changing the orientation will reset the design).

  • Refresh button - refreshes the iPad sign-in point to ensure changes are pushed to it. The button has this icon:

  • Save - save changes.

The left sidebar gives you the following options:

  • Home Screen - takes you back to the home screen of the iPad sign-in point designer.

  • Styling - allows you to change the font, color, and background of common components of inside screens, i.e., screens shown after the User clicks on elements of the iPad sign-in point's Home Screen.

  • Workflows - shows a visual tree of the iPad sign-in point elements and the workflows associated with each.

  • Notifications - allows you to specify notification contact persons.

  • Hosts - allows you to view the current host list as well as create a custom host list for the current iPad sign-in point.

  • Visitor Badge - allows you to create a Visitor Badge design that is different from the global template, or switch back to the global template. The Visitor Badge designer opens in a new window/tab.

  • Clone - allows you to create a copy of the current iPad sign-in point, specify a name, choose a location, and choose whether to copy the host list/contact(s).

  • Delete - allows you to delete the current iPad sign-in point.

  • Modify - allows you to change the name of the current iPad sign-in point, and assign it to a different location.

The right sidebar will show different options depending on the elements that you click on the home screen, and also gives you these two options:

  • Add Element - allows you to add elements, e.g., texts, images, blank buttons, pre-defined buttons, etc., to the iPad sign-in point's home screen.

  • Background - allows you to change the background of the iPad sign-in point's home screen, and enable screensaver mode (turning this on changes the home screen background to white).

When you click on an interactive element, a green 'Configure Workflow' button will show on the right sidebar. Click on it to access the workflow for that element.

You can add screens, remove screens, modify screen options, and rename the workflow by clicking on its name at the top.

QR-code Sign-in Point

QR-code Sign-In Points are what first come to mind when people think of a contactless sign-in point that can be implemented quickly and at a low cost. Shown below is a screen capture of the QR-code sign-in point designer:

The top bar shows the name of the QR-code sign-in point, and gives the following options:

  • English - default language. Click to add another language (you can map text for that language by going to Settings->Languages).

  • Refresh button - refreshes the QR-code sign-in point to ensure changes are pushed to it. The button has this icon:

  • Save - save changes.

The left sidebar gives you the following options:

  • Default - takes you back to the main screen of the QR-code sign-in point designer. Also allows you to change the name of the current QR-code sign-in point, assign it to a different location, and change the font, color, and background. It also allows you to download the QR-code or QR-code poster.

  • Workflows - shows a visual tree of the QR-code sign-in point buttons and the workflows associated with each.

  • Hosts - allows you to view the current host list as well as create a custom host list for the current QR-code sign-in point.

  • Default Notifications - allows you to specify notification contact persons.

  • Clone - allows you to create a copy of the current QR-code sign-in point, specify a name, choose a location, and choose whether to copy the contact(s).

  • Delete - allows you to delete the current QR-code sign-in point.

Browser Sign-in Point

If you wish to stay away from iPads, or if you have extra laptop PCs, desktop PCs, android tablets, or any internet-enabled smart device with a browser, you may choose to use a browser sign-in point instead. Browser sign-in points share the same designer as QR-code sign-in points and you can read up on it here.

To implement a browser sign-in point, click Details on the left sidebar, copy the URL by clicking the Copy button, and open the URL in a browser.

Customizing Sign-in Point workflows

The workflows are highly customizable. You can delete screens by clicking the trash symbol. You can further customize each screen by clicking the right arrow or the name of the screen. For QR-code sign-in points, you can click the pencil symbol to rename the workflow and the button. For iPad sign-in points, click on an element, i.e., button, text, etc., click configure workflow, and click the name of the workflow at the top to rename it.
