Add a video screen to kiosks

How to add a video to your workflow using a Web View screen

Updated this week

An instructional video on a sign-in kiosk's workflow can be incredibly helpful in setting customers' expectations, especially for individuals who speak a different language. Additionally, an instructional video can empower visitors and minimise the need for assistance from a staff member.

The Webview / Video Player screen supports local files, web URLs, network URLs, and publicly accessible video hosting services such as YouTube.

  • Android: supports MP4, WebM, MKV, 3GP, HLS, DASH

  • iOS: supports MP4, MOV, M4V, HLS

Adding a Webview / Video Player screen

  • Log on to the web dashboard

  • Click on the Sign In Dashboard icon, go to Sign In Points (under Settings), and click on the Physical Kiosk Sign In Point where you want to add the video

  • In the Sign In Point Designer, Select/add a Kiosk element, such as a button, that you would like to embed video into.

  • Click on Configure Workflow on the right pane.

  • Click on the + button

  • Select Webview / Video Player from the pop-up list.

  • Click on Webview / Video Player and specify the URL of the video you want to embed.

  • Select the Video option, and tick "Must watch the entire video" if needed. For non-YouTube platforms, you may want to try the Website option as well.

  • If you want to play a video saved on the tablet, change the Video URL to any filename, such as sample.mp4. The first time you use the Webview / Video Player on the tablet, it will prompt you to select the video file. It is recommended to place the file in the Downloads folder. Note: Make sure to use the Webview / Video Player at least once before any actual check-ins.

  • Hit Save at the top right, and you are done!

How to get a YouTube video to display in full-screen

  • Open the YouTube video that you would like to use

  • Click on the Share option and choose to Copy Embed Code

  • Paste the copied embed code onto a notepad

  • Look for src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/*" in the Embed Code, where * is a series of numbers, letters, and possibly a hyphen

  • Copy everything within the double quotes and use that in the Web View screen
